What are YouTube’s monetization requirements?
For ad revenue: 1,000 subscribers and either 4,000 public watch hours in the last 12 months or 10 million valid Shorts views in the last 90 days.
Is there an earlier tier?
Yes, in many countries: 500 subscribers, 3 public uploads in 90 days, and 3,000 watch hours or 3 million Shorts views unlock memberships, Super Thanks and Shopping.
Do Shorts views count as watch hours?
No. Shorts views count only towards the Shorts route, and long-form watch hours only towards the hours route.
